Mac Daddy FAL
 

My next door neighbor has the ultimate Fal. It is a SAR-48 match,heavy barrel, with a scope rail, and removable bipod. He is behind on the rent and wants to sell it. I am going to list on Gunbroker later today but I figured I would see if any of ya'll were interested first. It comes with 20 magazines. He wants 4700 for it, I can probably get it down to 4 k. It is a really nice rifle built by Israel for Springfield. Not some franken fal cobbled together by day laborers at Century. It looks just like this.http://www.hdps.org/htm/MVC-014F.JPG'

With the bipod installed, is it the long-legged mack daddy FAL?

There is nothing you can do to an FAL to make it worth 4 grand.
It may well be a very nice rifle, but that asking price is insane.

I have seen Belgian heavy barrel FN FAL's sell for less than this price and I happen to own a few of them.

IMEO a clone could be had for anywhere from 1200-1500 NIB.

A Springfield FAL is nothing but a clone of an actual FN FAL.

To the OP/ I would delete this thread and place a new sales thread in the appropriate area.

I don’t mean to criticize but the ultimate Fal IMEO would be the FN FAL GL G Series, as there were only 21 of those let into the country by BATF.

I tend to agree with the member I'm quoting but the fact is the rifle that I post the link to brought 14,000 at a Gunbroker Auction.

Heavy barrel FN FAL's (IE real FN FAL's not clones) can be found in the 2500-3500 area on Gunbroker.

The last 2 of these sold on gun broker both went for over 4.5k. I thought it was kind of insane too, til I did a little research over at the fal files. I still think its insane, I personally wouldn' t pay 4k for ANY fal any more than I would pay 1200 for an ar. It is what it is, there are fal nuts out there that will pay this for this rifle.
